A NEW FAVORITE PLACE TO MARK CONVOTHERM’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY

Eglfing, Germany (10 September 2026) – To mark its 50th anniversary, Convotherm has received a special gift from Oberland Werkstätten, a not-for-profit organisation based in Polling, Germany, that supports the professional and social participation of people with disabilities: a custom-made garden bench bearing a personal dedication. The bench will have a permanent home at Convotherm’s site in Eglfing. It forms part of the company’s “Convotherm in Bloom” initiative, through which Convotherm is creating new spaces for employees to relax and spend time together and at the same time creating stronger connections between the site and nature.

Oberland Werkstätten has been a partner for many years. As part of their collaboration, employees of the workshops carry out a range of tasks for Convotherm. During his visit, Hermann Soyer, Regional Manager of Oberland Werkstätten, provided an insight into the organisation’s work and explained how its team supports Convotherm.

Claus Pedersen, Managing Director of Convotherm says, “We are delighted with this special gift to mark our 50th anniversary. The bench is a perfect fit for ‘Convotherm in Bloom’ and serves as a visible symbol of our long-standing collaboration with Oberland Werkstätten.”

The “Convotherm in Bloom” project team was also on hand for the handover. Christine Miller and Marina Konsek, together with other Convotherm employees, are gradually transforming the site to bring it closer to nature. In addition to newly planted flower beds, as well as additional trees and seating areas, the project also includes four bee colonies. The new garden bench complements the seating areas already created and will provide a welcoming place for employees to relax and connect.

The official handover brought together Gottfried Schubert (Purchasing, Convotherm), Hermann Soyer (Regional Manager, Oberland Werkstätten Weilheim region), Claus Pedersen (Managing Director, Convotherm), Christine Miller and Marina Konsek (Convotherm in Bloom project team).
