CONVOTHERM CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF COMPANY HISTORY WITH A MAJOR OPEN DAY
Eglfing, Germany (8 July 2026) – Convotherm celebrated its 50th anniversary on Saturday 4 July 2026, by hosting an Open Day at its headquarters in Eglfing, Germany. In glorious sunshine and together Convotherm employees and their families, more than 3,000 visitors took the opportunity to celebrate this landmark anniversary by going behind the scenes at the combi oven manufacturer to experience state-of-the-art kitchen technology and to tour the production facilities. A wide range of culinary delights - prepared of course with the support of Convotherm combi ovens - completed the day's celebrations.
Under the theme "50 Years of Culinary Precision," Convotherm presented a varied programme featuring guided factory tours, insights into the company's history, and in the showroom, live demonstrations of its latest technologies. The production tours proved particularly popular, giving guests a first-hand look at how Convotherm's professional combi ovens are manufactured at the Eglfing site.
Celebrity chef Johann Lafer provided the culinary highlights of the day, alongside the Convotherm team, showcasing modern cooking technology in live demonstrations. Live music and a wide range of family activities, including a bouncy castle, AirEmotion entertainment and interactive experiences, ensure that visitors of all ages enjoyed the event.
Sustainability also played an important part of the Open Day. Under the theme "Convotherm in Bloom," guests learned about the company's environmental initiatives and even had the opportunity to take part by extracting honey. Long queues formed outside the workshop, where visitors could try their hand at metalworking. At the apprenticeship stand, students and their parents gained valuable insights into the training and career opportunities available at Convotherm.
The Open Day also reflected Convotherm's commitment to giving back to the community. All attractions and food were provided free of charge, with only beverages available at cost price. Guests were invited to make voluntary donations to regional charitable organisations via donation boxes located throughout the venue.
The funds raised will benefit the organisations Elterninitiative Intern 3 – Dr. von Hauner Children's Hospital Munich e.V., Gmünder Hoffnung e.V., supporting youth welfare projects, and Anna Schaffelhuber Grenzlos Camps. Through these initiatives in its anniversary year, Convotherm once again demonstrates its commitment to social responsibility and community spirit.
