WORLD PREMIERE AT IBA 2025: CONVOTHERM PRESENTS THE FUTURE OF AUTOMATED BAKING
Eglfing, Germany (May 6, 2025) – The future of baking is automated! When it comes to automation and digitalization in the baking sector, Convotherm - part of Welbilt, the world’s largest manufacturer of professional kitchen equipment, and a member of Ali Group - is setting new standards. At this year’s iba 2025, the company will debut its AI-driven combi oven solutions for bakeries and snack shops. At the center of the presentation is ConvoSense, AI-driven Optical Cooking for fully automated cooking and baking.
The world’s leading trade fair for bakeries, pastry shops, and snacks will take place from M18 to 22 May 2025, in Düsseldorf. Convotherm will exhibit in Hall 13, Stand D42.
Convotherm is the world leader in AI-driven Optical Cooking and baking with its ConvoSense technology, bringing artificial intelligence directly into the daily routine of bakeries. The AI-driven optical recognition system, ConvoSense, automatically detects the placed product and launches the appropriate cooking program - completely hands-free. This reduces the need for training, minimizes risk of error, and ensures consistently high-quality baked goods with maximum efficiency, whether in chain operations, franchise bakeries, or snack bars.
Also on display will be the new mini pro, now also available with ConvoSense technology. At just 49.8 cm wide, the mini pro is the world’s smallest smartest 1/1 GN combi oven in its class. It combines award-winning, space-saving design with professional features such as Solid-to-Liquid cleaning technology, digital connectivity, and Optical Cooking via ConvoSense, radically simplifying product handling and preparation. Even with protein-rich snack components like meat, fish, or egg dishes, the mini pro delivers speed, precision, and consistently high quality.
Another highlight on the stand is the high-performance maxx pro BAKE ConvoSense. It boasts around 28% lower energy consumption, up to 18% shorter baking times, and 11% faster preheating compared to conventional appliances. Its intelligent baking and cooking processes deliver around 30% better results than manually controlled oven, while significantly easing the burden on staff.
“iba is the ideal platform for us to showcase our solutions for bakeries and snack shops to a wide professional audience,” says Claus Pedersen, Managing Director of Convotherm. “With ConvoSense, we’re demonstrating how baking processes can be made smarter, more efficient, and more economical. With the new mini pro and maxx pro BAKE, we’re presenting two powerful families of combi ovens featuring ConvoSense technology - perfect for bakeries, chains, and snack shops that value quality, efficiency, and want to be future-ready.”
