Eglfing/Herborn, Germany (December 22, 2023) – At the end of the year, Welbilt Germany GmbH once again embraced its social responsibility by donating 3,000 Euros to regional institutions and associations in each of its locations in Bavaria and Hesse, Germany.

The Herborn sales office presented a cheque for 3,000 Euros to the Otfried-Preußler School in Dillenburg. The school, that serves children with multiple severe disabilities, was delighted to receive the donation. Andrea Bernhardt, a member of the management team, presented the giant cheque to the principal Thomas Reich, who expressed his gratitude for the support. Welbilt Germany GmbH has also supported the school in the past, through initiatives such as a joint cookie baking campaign.

Convotherm in Eglfing donated baked goods to the Peißenberg Gift Table and also donated 3,000 Euros. Rudolf Fischer from the Gift Table’s leadership team picked up the cheque, fresh rolls, croissants, and more, from Head Chef, Georg Ostermayr and Andrea Sauer of the management team, direct from the Eglfing factory. Convotherm regularly supports charitable institutions around its production plant in Eglfing.

Both Welbilt Germany GmbH locations are deeply committed to social responsibility - not just towards employees and customers, but also towards people in need.

About the Support Association of the Otfried-Preußler School in Dillenburg

The Otfried-Preußler School in Dillenburg is a school with a special focus on mental development and a department for physical and motor skills development. Not all teaching materials, important to support students in the optimal way, can be financed from state funds. This is why the Support Association of the Otfried-Preußler School was founded. Since the association's inception, mobility aids and bicycles adapted for disabled people have been purchased or subsidized for road and traffic skills education. In addition, a minibus has been purchased and maintained.

About Peißenberger Gabentisch e. V.

Peißenberger Gabentisch e. V. enjoys great support in the region. It all started with the desire to support individuals and families in economic need. Peißenberger Gabentisch was created as a joint project with the Catholic parish community of Peißenberg/Forst and the Evangelical Lutheran Peißenberger Peace Church, initiated by the Caritas Association for the Weilheim-Schongau district.

Since 2006, Peißenberger Gabentisch has been working according to the principles of the Food Bank movement. It is there to support all those in need – old and young, individuals and families – helping people in need in the market town by donating food. Currently, Peißenberger Gabentisch supports over 400 people, including 74 children. But social or civic engagement for the association means not only distributing food or offering other help, but also maintaining regular contact with people, seeking conversation, listening, taking their concerns seriously, and showing respect, regardless of their social or cultural background.
