Convotherm receives ENERGY STAR® Certification on 18 models
Eglfing, Germany . - The efficiency and sustainability of the Convotherm 4 combi oven has once again been affirmed through ENERGY STAR®. Convotherm offers a total of 18 combi oven models with the ENERGY STAR® certification, making it the manufacturer with the most certifications in the product category. The Convotherm models include 6.20, 10.10, 10.20 and 20.20 models both in Gas and Electric models featuring easyDial™ or easyTouch® control panels. ENERGY STAR® is an international labelling programme for energy-saving appliances which was started in 1992 by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
In its 40-year company history, Convotherm has always been a pioneer in terms of energy efficient combi ovens, and Convotherm’s unique closed system was patented in 1982. In the Convotherm 4, the third-generation Advanced Closed System+ delivers both the very best in cooking performance and at the same time, the lowest energy and water consumption.
Ralf Klein, Convotherm Managing Director: “Convotherm 4 represents our newest standard for energy efficiency and minimum water consumption – every watt and every litre counts. While the Convotherm Plus 3 in standby mode consumed 1.3 KWh of power, in the Convotherm 4, this figure is only 1 KWh, which represents a saving of 23 percent. Furthermore, in our manufacturing site, all of our heating needs are supplied by the local biomass heating plant, and this represents a consistent application of our sustainability strategy. Moreover, all Eglfing divisions use only 100% hydroelectric eco-power. The results from our “green” commitment is apparent in the figures: The annual total saving in CO2 amounts to about 1 million kg. That’s a figure that speaks for itself.”
