Summer celebrations at Convotherm's head office in Eglfing, Bavaria, Germany
On Friday 5 July, more than 200 employees from the two sites of Welbilt Deutschland: Convotherm in Eglfing and the Central Europe Sales hub in Herborn, gathered together at the head office in Eglfing to celebrate the much-anticipated annual summer party.
Claus Pedersen and Hans Werner Schmidt, Manager Directors of the company, as well as Convotherm founders, Frank Dittmann and Werner Schwarzbäcker, were there to meet and greet staff.
The whole day was laid out for colleagues coming from Herborn near Frankfurt. This included a product demonstration of Convotherm’s new multifunctional cooking system, the Convotherm flexx pro series as well as live cooking of different dishes.
After a factory tour and internal department get-togethers, the celebrations moved outside. The sun was shining as employees gathered to mark special work anniversaries and share a BBQ, a beer or soft drink and later to watch Germany play Spain in the UEFA Euro Championships.
Claus Pedersen, Managing Director and Holger Starnberg, Head of HR, gave special thanks to more than 20 employees who are marking special work anniversaries this year. In particular congratulations were paid to staff who celebrated 30 years of service: Brigitte Jörg-Rutzmoser, Ludwig Modl, Stefan Sadler, and Anke Röhrig.
It may not have been a great football result for Germany, but this didn’t spoil the event in any way. Herborn and Eglfing are located about 500km apart so the summer party is the perfect opportunity for colleagues who regularly work together by phone, email and Teams to meet up face-to-face.
“This was my first time at the summer party and it was a great opportunity to get to know everyone better in a relaxed and fun environment. We are proud of all our employees, particularly those who were celebrating 10, 15 and 20 years of service. Special congratulations and thanks to four employees in particular, who have given us an amazing 30 years of service. This is a real achievement and testament to both their dedication and to Convotherm as an employer.”
