How everything began...

CONVOTHERM's success story begins in the year 1976 on the premises of a former dairy in Wolfratshausen, Germany (southern Bavaria). Two highly motivated young men put all of their knowledge, enthusiasm and talents into the founding of a company to manufacture defrosting and regeneration equipment. The breakthrough into the global, commercial-kitchen market came in 1982 when, as a team, Dipl. Kfm. Frank Dittmann and Dipl. Ing. Werner Schwarzbäcker began with the production of a fully electronic controlled combi steamer that distinguished itself because of its wide range of applications.

Dipl.-Betr.-Wirt Hans Kummert The success proved CONVOTHERM right and since then production facilities have been repeatedly expanded to provide for more capacity. In 1983 CONVOTHERM moved into its newly constructed company building in Eglfing. As early as 1989 the company already needed more space and rented additional production floor-space in Huglfing; and finally added even more to this with space in Weilheim. In 2001 CONVOTHERM consolidated these plants in a newly constructed and highly modern production facility on the company's premises in Eglfing. Since October of 2001 CONVOTHERM products are being produced on over 6000 m2 of production floor-space.

Today CONVOTHERM combi steamers ar the centre of food preparation in top restaurants, hotels, group meal services, commercial kitchens, hospitals, supermarkets, catering services and even luxury cruise ships. CONVOTHERM perceives itself as a vendor of innovative solutions to ease kitchen work processes so that the user has more time to be creative. Our customer-oriented product development has resulted in the export of our CONVOTHERM combi steamers into over 80 countries around the world and turned us into a major global player for large kitchen technology. Since 1998 CONVOTHERM is a subsidiary of Enodis plc, headquartered in London. Enodis plc is a leading international supplier of food equipment and systems.
